Detroit Industrial Sewing and Innovation Center Joins United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network
DETROIT, MI — May 7, 2026 — The Industrial Sewing and Innovation Center (ISAIC), a Detroit-based nonprofit and national resource for advanced soft-goods manufacturing, has joined the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network, a global platform fostering collaboration, innovation, and transparency across the fashion and lifestyle industries.
Hosted by the United Nations Office for Partnerships, the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network advances the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by connecting industry stakeholders, media, governments, and UN entities. Through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation, the Network highlights organizations driving meaningful progress toward a more sustainable future.
Founded in 2018 by industry leaders concerned about the harmful practices of the global manufacturing industry and their impact on both people and the planet, ISAIC addresses fashion’s $1 trillion waste crisis by pioneering advanced, human-centered manufacturing solutions. Its Innovation Center serves as a live testing ground for technologies and processes that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and create high-skilled jobs while minimizing environmental impact.
Joining the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network further positions ISAIC — and Detroit — as a global leader in apparel and textile innovation, workforce development, and future-focused manufacturing culture. As a national institute with global expertise, ISAIC remains committed to expanding access to innovation and ensuring its benefits reach the Detroit community and beyond.
