Connecting with Industry Changemakers: ISAIC President & CEO Visits United Repair Centre in Amsterdam

While in Europe for The Future of Supply Chain: Scaling Regenerative, Human-Centered Manufacturing, a Chatham House-Rule Workshop with BFC x ISAIC, ISAIC President and CEO, Jen Guarino, stopped by United Repair Centre in Amsterdam.

We’re always energized by connecting with organizations that are transforming the textile and apparel industry for the better—and United Repair Centre is doing exactly that. Their mission to create large-scale, direct employment opportunities (particularly for those distant from the labor market) while processing millions of garments annually is a powerful example of how extending the life of clothing can drive real impact.

They are proving that apparel repair can work for business, people, and the planet.

We loved meeting their dedicated team and learning more about their innovative, socially driven model. We look forward to exploring ways to support and strengthen each other’s work as we continue building a more responsible domestic and global manufacturing ecosystem.

The workshop ISAIC is hosting in London, England that sent Guarino abroad, is a closed-door candid, solutions-oriented space for senior leaders across design, manufacturing policy, innovation, and investment to discuss:

  • What regenerative manufacturing really looks like in practice

  • How brands and retailers can solve ending inventory gluts through hybrid sourcing

  • Moving pilot programs to scaled implementation through partnerships

  • The role of advanced manufacturing, skills development, and local production

  • Opportunities for European–US collaboration and knowledge exchange
