The Industrial Sewing and Innovation Center (ISAIC), a Detroit-based nonprofit and national resource for textile and apparel manufacturing is partnering with Tukatech, a global leader in fashion technology solutions, to launch a state-of-the-artTUKAcenter in Detroit.

College for Creative Studies senior, Maxwell Honeycutt, utilized ISAIC’s advanced technology to create pieces for his senior thesis project, Sabiħ Máti, blending his Maltese and Greek heritage by incorporating three sacred crafts—mosaic, lace making, and macramé—through his own lens in a more technically innovative way.

Recently, ISAIC became the first U.S. textile manufacturer to adopt Khenda, an AI-powered video analytics platform for continuous improvement (CI). With Khenda, ISAIC can now perform AI-based time studies and equip its engineering team with smart tools to analyze and optimize production lines; faster, more efficiently, and at scale.
