Michael Tyson, President & CEO Michael R. Tyson& Associates

Michael's 9 year career path as CEO & President at NEW (Nonprofit Enterprise at Work) were successful improving the impact and performance of fellow nonprofits by working alongside leaders to create high-quality strategic solutions that advanced their missions in their communities.

Prior to NEW, Michael was CEO, Residential Detroit, Inc. (residential developer) for 12 years n the city of Detroit.  After furthering his education, he spent 20 years of demonstrated success in the financial sector with J.P. Morgan Chase and held several executive level positions directing strategic planning, budget management, and sales and service activities of more than 2,000 employees in Southeast Michigan financial centers. Nationally he directed policy, risk and compliance activities of ATM operations in Dallas, Indianapolis, Detroit, and Phoenix.  He lead a team and directed merger activities of several financial institutions, and was responsible for national support in the areas of training development and implementation, policy, systems, and risk for a network of financial centers.

He is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and recently continued his education after being awarded a fellowship to Harvard Business School's Strategic Perspectives in a Non Profit Management program.

Michael serves on the following Boards & Committees; Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC), DEGC Finance & Executive Committee, The Jewish Fund, Loyola High School, Brilliant Detroit & ISAIC.

Drawing on this background prepared Michael to step down at NEW as the President and CEO and start Michael R. Tyson & Associates, LLC.  Their goal, provide executive consulting to nonprofits, diversify revenue and improve an organizations sustainability.
