Threads of Innovation: ISAIC Joins Knit FUTURES Panel at Kent State University
ISAIC Research and Innovation Manager, Alex Stcheckine, leading the panel at Knit FUTURES
March 4–6, 2026 — Kent State University
ISAIC Research and Innovation Manager Alex Stcheckine recently spoke on a panel at Knit FUTURES, a symposium hosted by Kent State University’s School of Fashion. The event was designed to energize the advancement of knitting across disciplines—supporting people, the environment, and place—while bringing together researchers from both academia and industry for conversation, knowledge exchange, and collaboration.
The two-day, in-person event brought academia and industry together around the topic of knitting across fields ranging from engineering and technical textiles to fashion and art applications. Representatives from 24 universities and 20 companies attended, including Stcheckine.
Stcheckine served as the moderator for a panel discussion on product development. Panelists included Alison Hicks (Under Armour), Paige Tomfordhe (Cornell University), Paul Loveman (Knit Engine), and Kaitlyn Phillips (Kent State University).
We’re honored to be part of an event that directly aligns with ISAIC’s mission of innovation, skilling, and workforce development—especially in ways that support both people and planet. Check out some of the amazing student creations on display below.
Thank you again to the School of Fashion’s KnitLAB for having us. We can’t wait until next year!
