Support Black Businesses: Happy Black History Month!
As a startup, we deeply understand the significance of community and resource sharing. We recognize the systemic challenges that black-owned businesses disproportionately face, which can hinder their growth and sustainability. From limited access to capital to systemic discrimination and bias, black entrepreneurs encounter numerous hurdles on their journey to success.
In Honor of Black History Month, but also beyond February, we encourage everyone to actively support black-owned businesses and learn about the vibrant entrepreneurial landscape in the Detroit metro area. By intentionally buying black and patronizing Black-owned businesses, we can contribute to fostering economic equity and empowerment within our community.
To facilitate this, here are a few upcoming events where you can explore and celebrate the resilience and creativity of black-owned businesses:
1. Black Business Reunion: Uniting the Community for Prosperity

2. Black-Owned Businesses Pop-Up Market

- Location: Bamboo Royal Oak
- Discover and support a diverse range of local black-owned businesses showcasing their products and services, from fashion and beauty to food and art.
3. WeWork Presents - Love Local: Black Owned Edition
- Date: February 22, 2024

- Hosted by WeWork Detroit, this event aims to spotlight local black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs, showcasing their impact on the city.
4. Black Business Reunion Happy Hour

- Join the Black Business Reunion Happy Hour in line with TechTown Detroit's Black History Month Conference theme, celebrating entrepreneurship and community prosperity.
